Ron Shaneyfelt – AKA “DJ COSMOS” – I was a DJ for live events for 44+ years before retiring from DJing in live events in 2019 to become an online DJ with internet stations and now as part of the DJ team with Rewind 102.9.
I taught high school science, astronomy, and Radio-TV courses during my 41 years as a classroom teacher in Indiana and Virginia. I have received many educational awards. including being selected as a Teacher of the Year twice, and was included in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.I grew up in Indiana and received Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.I was an Educator-In-Residence with NASA for two years as a Program Manager with an Elementary Education website.
My passion for music and experience as a DJ becomes part of every show i  bring to my listeners.My motto as a DJ has always been “Music is Life”.I'm honored and happy when i can bring back the music of the 80s for my listeners to enjoy.

THE BIG ROCK                         SUNDAY NIGHT 7 -11

The BIG ROCK is a four-hour classic rock/AOR radio show. It’s hosted by Johnny J and focuses primarily on rock music from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s, with a little 60's and some newer songs by those core artists added in. The hits, the misses, the deep cuts and the lost favorites by the superstars of rock, the one hit wonders and the coulda beens. It's all rock & roll - mainstream, hard, progressive, punk, southern, glam, heartland, metal or alternative. The British Invasion, Hollywood Strip, Grunge Movement, New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Power Pop...it just doesn't matter...if it rocks...we are playing it.   Johnny J is a true fan of real rock music. He began recording songs off the radio at a young age. Since the purchase of his first cassette, Billy Joel's "Glass Houses", he has collected thousands of records, cassettes, CD's & mp3's over the years.Born, raised and lives in Erie, Pennsylvania. Johnny is married and has three adult children and now even some grandkids. He is a huge hockey and baseball fan.
